What a hand full see that a million others don’t
Today we travelled to coffs harbour for a surf trip, we bailed from port at 4 in the morning to get there at sun rise.
We got there checked a couple of spots and the swell didn’t look promising until we wandered down a headland to check a bombie we had heard about and it was getting swell that no other spot was. Quick suit up and 3 of us paddled out.When we got out there it was 3-4ft crystal clear sky blue lips just throwing over on this reef and the water clarity was 100%.
For the next hour and a half we all went wave for wave, with just 3 of us,no one else out.This break would of been a couple of km’s off the beach itself but probably 50m paddle from the base of the headland, pretty much still in the middle of the ocean, and surrounded by a couple of islands. As I sat there waiting for waves bobbing up and down looking at my fins in the water and the rocky reef below I thought to myself us who bodyboard make up a hand full of people who experience this, bobbing up and down in the middle of the ocean surfing energy that is created by the earth that breaks over a submerged rock ledge and witnessing some of the most unbelievable and biggest/thickest barrels of my life literally 5 meters away in front of my face.
I would say to anyone travel your heart out, get out of your comfort zone and experience everything in this world, because honestly it’s all at your finger tips if you wish to grab it.
